Space Shuttle astronaut Dr. Don Thompson and Jim Jennings, Deputy Director for Business Operations at the John F. Hundreds of local school children attended the event which officially kickoffed NASA's 40th anniversary activities.

These stamps include the feature of hidden images within the stamp itself.
3238 - Space City - Hidden images of large spacecraft, small spacecraft, and figure.
3239 - Space Ship Landing - Hidden image of small spacecraft.
3240 - Person in Space Suit - Hidden image of small spacecraft.
3241 - Space Ship Ascending - Hidden image of small spacecraft.
3242 - Large Domed Structure - Hidden image of small and large spacecrafts.

To view the hidden images, one must use a special acrylic decoder lens, which the Postal Service sells for $4.95 through its Stamp Fulfillment Services division. The added feature of hidden images is used by the Postal Service as both a bonus for stamp collectors and as an added security feature.
